The Department of MBA organized "Illuminez," Nexora an Intercollegiate Management Fest, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from 324 students representing 15 different colleges. The fest served as a dynamic platform for students to showcase their managerial, analytical, and creative skills through a variety of engaging competitions. The event featured multiple management and gaming activities such as Vecna's Trail - Best Manager, Stranger Ventures - Business Pitch, Dimension X - Quiz, The Market Dimension, The Upside-Down Logistics, BGMI and VALORANT tournaments, among others, designed to test leadership, strategy, and problem-solving abilities.
A major attraction of the fest was the first-ever On-Campus Auto Expo, which showcased an impressive collection of 15 posh luxury cars and 20 personalized bikes. The exhibition provided students with an opportunity to witness premium automobiles and customized designs up close, adding excitement and uniqueness to the event. Overall, the fest created a vibrant and competitive environment that encouraged innovation, teamwork, and intercollegiate interaction among participants.

"The fest was conducted over two days and featured a series of competitions and activities designed to test participants' managerial skills, strategic thinking, creativity, and teamwork." The activities are as follows:
The Best Manager event was designed to test participants' managerial skills through a challenging corporate simulation titled "The Gatekeeper's Defense." In this round, participants acted as Lead Defense Directors facing a simulated hostile corporate takeover. They were required to quickly analyze a threat dossier, identify the company's financial vulnerabilities, and develop both a public reassurance statement and a strategic internal defense plan within a limited time frame.
The activity included a boardroom presentation where participants defended their strategies while responding to unexpected "sabotage" questions from judges. The event evaluated spontaneity, clarity of ideas, strategic thinking, topic coverage, and the ability to handle pressure. Participants ultimately competed for the title of Best Manager: Survival Specialist.

Hawkins Showdown – BGMI was a highly competitive Battlegrounds Mobile India tournament conducted to promote strategic thinking, teamwork, leadership, and decision-making skills. The tournament emphasized esports strategies aligned with management principles such as coordination, planning, adaptability, and performance under pressure.
The final match showcased high-level tactical gameplay, smart rotations, and impressive clutch performances, creating an electrifying atmosphere for both participants and spectators.

Dimension X was a two-day inter-collegiate business quiz event themed around the popular series Stranger Things. The event challenged participants on business concepts, brand knowledge, corporate history, and entrepreneurial thinking, wrapped in a creative narrative that kept engagement high throughout both days.
Teams of one or two members competed across three progressively challenging rounds, with the top four qualifiers from Day 1 advancing to the Grand Finale on Day 2. The event was presided over by judges Ms. Savita BH and Ms. Ramya, both Assistant Professors from the Department of Business Administration.

The Gatekeeper's Googly was an exciting IPL Auction simulation event designed to test participants' strategic thinking, financial planning, and decision-making skills. The event recreated the atmosphere of a real Indian Premier League auction, where teams had to carefully bid for players while managing a limited budget.
Participants formed franchise teams to strategically select players based on performance, team balance, and budget constraints. The activity provided a practical understanding of team management, resource allocation, negotiation, and auction strategies through competitive bidding rounds.

Stranger Ventures – Business Pitch was conducted in two rounds to evaluate participants' entrepreneurial thinking and business development skills. In Round 1, teams had 30 minutes to design a business model canvas without internet access, followed by a 5-minute presentation on their concept and feasibility.
Shortlisted teams advanced to Round 2, where they had 40 minutes to refine proposals before delivering an 8-minute pitch and participating in a 2-minute Q&A session with judges. The round focused on assessing idea clarity, innovation, market potential, and communication skills.

Hawkins Money Verse was a finance competition for MBA students conducted on 19th and 20th February 2026. The event tested financial knowledge, analytical skills, and stress management through multiple rounds. Day 1 featured preliminary rounds including a True/False assessment, picture identification of financial terms, and a rapid-fire quiz.
On Day 2, participants engaged in a 90-minute Virtual Trading Competition on the Spit Bull platform with ?20,00,000 virtual capital. The competition concluded with a Stress Interview round where teams defended their trading strategies.

The Corporate Walk was organized to showcase participants' creativity, confidence, teamwork, and presentation skills under the theme "90s Retro Corporate Style". Inspired by 1990s fashion, teams incorporated elements such as oversized blazers, power suits, suspenders, and vintage office accessories into their ramp walk and coordinated formations.
Teams were evaluated on theme relevance, creativity, team coordination, confidence, stage presence, and overall presentation, reflecting a high level of corporate professionalism throughout the entertaining competition.

The Department of Management and Commerce at MS Ramaiah College of Arts, Science, and Commerce successfully organized Illuminez 2025, a two-day Management and Commerce Fest, under the theme “Chaturanga – The Game of Strategic Excellence.”
Bringing together bright minds from 21 colleges, the fest featured 12 diverse events, including Best HR, Best Manager, Best Finance, Best Marketing, Business Plan, BGMI, Business Quiz, IPL Auction, and many more. These competitions provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their strategic thinking, leadership qualities, and business acumen.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, the fest also hosted 15 stalls, ranging from food and fashion brands to student-led entrepreneurial ventures. This created an engaging marketplace while encouraging budding entrepreneurs to present their creativity and business skills.

The session aimed to provide students with a platform to discuss current global and national affairs and their implications on business and management practices.

Pitch Arena – Igniting Ideas, Inspiring Innovation

The Department of Management Studies organized the Pitch Arena – Idea Pitching Competition on 14th August 2025 (Thursday) at 12:00 PM in Kuvempu Hall.
The event brought together aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs who presented their creative business ideas to a panel of evaluators.
Participants showcased their originality, problem-solving approach, and persuasive presentation skills, making the session both inspiring and insightful for the audience.
The competition served as a launchpad for students to refine their entrepreneurial thinking.
Each team got 5 minutes to pitch their idea to the chief guest, Mr. Naren Narayana who was also the judge along with Prof. Satyan for the competition. After a team is done with the pitch, there was a small question-answer session with the judge.
The Idea Pitching Competition served as a dynamic platform for young innovators to present their creative solutions to real-world problems. The participants showcased out- of-the-box thinking, entrepreneurial spirit, and the power of ideas in a competitive yet collaborative environment.

The Graduation Day Ceremony for MBA students was held on 23rd July 2025 at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Auditorium, M. S. Ramaiah College of Arts, Science and Commerce. The event celebrated the academic achievements of the outgoing MBA batch.
Captain Naveen Nagappa, Kargil War Veteran and Sena Medal awardee, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring address. Dignitaries from Gokula Education Foundation, faculty, and parents witnessed the conferring of degrees and the felicitation of course toppers..

Finance Club Activity

The Finance Club conducted an event on “Virtual Trading (Bull vs Bear)” on 30/08/2024. This was conducted through an app named “Virtual Trading,” where all the teams were allotted a virtual currency of Rs. 50,00,000. Students were given one hour to trade using the virtual currency and make profits. Whoever made the highest profit was declared as the winner of the event. This event provided good learning to the students about real market conditions.

The Department of MBA-HR Club initiated a Video resume making event for the II semester MBA students. The event strived to portray the strength sets of the students. It focused on improving their skill-sets, creativity, presentation as well as communication skills. The event focused on 60 to 120 seconds of video on their skills, experience, career aspirations, education qualification etc. focusing on the interviews during the upcoming days. This event was conducted to boost their confidence as well as understand and focus on their strengths as well as weaknesses, threats and challenges.
MOCK INTERVIEW

On 11/11/2024, Department of Management studies MBA conducted a Mock interview session for the students of II semester MBA. The interview was conducted by Dr.Jeevitha and team from Ramaiah Institute of management. This session was highly a fruitful one for the students to understand as well as improve themselves to face the real time interviews. The interview team was dedicated enough to groom the students in a better manner. After the interviews, they addressed the students about the same.
MBA 2024 BATCH ORIENTATION

The MBA Orientation Program for the 2024-25 batch at M.S. Ramaiah College of Arts, Science, and Commerce (MSRCASC) was held on 9th December 2024 in the APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium. Welcoming the first autonomous MBA batch, the event was filled with enthusiasm and inspiration.
The program began with Dr. Pushpa H, Principal of MSRCASC, delivered an inspiring welcome address.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Ravi Kumar, Former Professor at IIM Bangalore, emphasized resilience and adaptability, while Guest of Honour, Mr. Vyasaraj Ramarao Kulkarni, shared insights on aligning skills with industry trends. Dr. H. V. Parswanath, Chief Executive of GEF, highlighted the importance of discipline and perseverance.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shaista B Harris HOD MBA & M.Com, setting a strong foundation for the students' MBA journey.

The MBA Department at M S Ramaiah College of Arts, Science, and Commerce successfully hosted an engaging session titled “Inside Startups – Unveiling Entrepreneurial Journeys” on 19th February 2025. This insightful event, organized by the Entrepreneurship Club, provided students with a deep dive into the world of startups, highlighting inspiring success stories, business strategies, and the challenges faced by some of India's most innovative companies.
The session commenced with inaugural remarks by Ms. Akshaya Rao (Student Member), who introduced the Entrepreneurship Club and its mission to foster entrepreneurial thinking. The event featured case study presentations, where students explored the journeys of game-changing startups such as Namma Yatri, Nykaa, CultFit, PharmEasy, Beardo, Ather Energy, Cred, Zerodha, Zepto, and Delhivery.
The activity involved presentations from various students, each covering one of the mentioned startups.
The presentations were rich in information, providing in-depth knowledge about how these companies have grown, their business models, the challenges they encountered, and the innovative solutions they introduced. CEO for a Day – A Strategic Roleplay Experience

The Department of Management Studies organized the “CEO for a Day” activity on 11th June 2025 to boost students’ strategic thinking and business acumen.
Students were grouped into six teams, each analyzing a real-world company based on recent news from the May–June 2025 edition of the Business Newsletter. One member from each group assumed the role of CEO and presented their team’s insights. The “CEO for a Day” activity successfully blended experiential learning with current business insights. It enabled students to think like business leaders, strengthened their analytical and communication skills, and offered valuable exposure to real-world corporate challenges. The initiative received positive feedback and is set to become a recurring feature in future academic semesters.
