We proudly congratulate Dr. Vishal M. and his student, Ms. Lakshmi Sravya (B.Sc.Biotechnology & Microbiology, 2022–2025), for their notable success at the 9thInternational Conference on “Advances in Agricultural, Biological and BiodiversityConservation for Sustainable Development (ABCD–2025).” Ms. Sravya’s project,"SUSTAINABLE VALORIZATION OF LIGNOCELLULOSIC SUBSTRATEBF-4245 VIA MICROBIAL FERMENTATION: A COMPARATIVE STUDYTOWARD BIOREMEDIATION APPLICATIONS," conducted under Dr. VishalM.'s guidance, secured the prestigious 3rd Prize, showcasing the high quality of theircollaborative research and its significant potential for sustainable bioremediationapplications.
Dr. Vishal M. and his team on winning First Prize for a poster presentation at thepre-TEMA conference workshop held on November 6, 2024, and organized by M.S.Ramaiah College of Arts, Science and Commerce – Autonomous, Bengaluru. Theaward-winning poster, entitled "The Role of Zinc in Enhancing PUFA Productionin Edible Mushroom Fungi," highlights innovative research in mycology andnutritional science, contributing significantly to the understanding of how traceminerals can boost the production of beneficial polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs)in food sources.
Dr. Prashanthi R was awarded the 2nd Prize in the poster presentation at the NationalConference on Current Trends in Biological and Health Sciences, conducted by REVAUniversity on December 11th & 12th, 2024
1. We congratulate Dr. Pushpa H., Dr. Savitha J., and Dr. Vishal M. for successfullysecuring ?2,45,000 in Seed Money from MSRCASC for the 2023–24 academic year.Their funded project, titled "Development of durable, biodegradable, andsustainable materials with fungal mycelium immobilized on agricultural wastes,"is a key initiative in Green Technology, aiming to transform agricultural waste intodurable, eco-friendly materials using fungal mycelium, thus significantly advancingresearch in sustainable biomaterials.
2. We congratulate Dr. Vishal M., Dr. Prashanthi R., and Dr. Prashith Kekuda forsuccessfully securing ?2,80,000 in Seed Money from MSRCASC for the 2023–24academic year. Their funded project, titled "Evaluation of Plant Extracts againstDental Cariogenic Bacteria," focuses on Natural Antimicrobials, evaluating theefficacy of various plant extracts as potential agents against the bacteria that causedental caries, thus contributing to advancements in preventive oral health.
3. We congratulate Dr. Vidya Jagadeeshan and Dr. Vemula Vani for successfullysecuring ?3,00,000 in Seed Money from MSRCASC for the 2023–24 academic year.Their funded project, titled "Screening and identification of potential endophytesfrom medicinal plants for bioactive compounds," investigates Medicinal PlantBioactivity, specifically aiming to screen and identify novel endophytes(microorganisms residing within plants) that can produce valuable bioactivecompounds for potential pharmaceutical applications.
Dr. Prasanna Srinivas R received notable recognition as a “Top 10 Performer” atthe 21st International Training-cum-Certificate Program on Tending NovelTechnologies in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries Science and their AlliedSystems, held in June 2024. This achievement, conferred by the Society of AgricultureResearch and Social Development, New Delhi, underscores his dedication tocontinuous professional development and mastery of novel technologies acrossmultidisciplinary scientific fields.
Dr. Pushpa H. and Dr. Ramesha A. published the invention titled “Novel FungalGrowth Medium - Samanea saman Pod Extract Agar (SSEA).” This breakthroughinnovation introduces a sustainable and efficient fungal growth medium formulatedfrom the extract of Samanea saman pods, offering an eco-friendly alternative toconventional laboratory media.
Dr. Vishal M has successfully filed a patent application for his innovative research.The patent, titled "A HYDROGEL COMPOSITION AND A PROCESS FOR THEPREPARATION THEREOF," was officially filed on October 12, 2023. Dr. Vishal’sinnovative work focuses on a unique hydrogel composition, with diverse applicationsand a novel preparation method, showcasing exciting potential in various fields
Dr. Prasanna Srinivas.R was honored with the prestigious Excellence Award inMicrobiology in March 2023. This award was presented by the Society for EcologicalSustainability on the eve of National Science Day, recognizing his outstandingcontributions to the field of Microbiology during the International ConferenceAdvancing Knowledge from Multidisciplinary Perspectives in Agriculture, LifeSciences, Engineering & Technology.
