Cultural Committee

Since the college's reopening, the cultural committee of MSRCASC has been quite active. In addition to intellectual and social opportunities, we expose our students to a wide range of additional experiences. They have a variety of options to network and create opportunities for themselves, including lectures, seminars, get-togethers, cultural festivals, social campus events, volunteer and community activities, conferences, and career fairs. These occasions also lead to the development of social and professional ties with their connections from the cultural event so that everyone can benefit.

Krishi Purva 2k26 was celebrated with great vibrancy and cultural pride on 29 January 2026 at the MSR Sports Ground, M.S. Ramaiah College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous). The campus transformed into a lively rural landscape with a traditional pooja, desi games, and colourful festive stalls, creating an authentic harvest ambience. Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) were meaningfully integrated through curated displays of books and posters highlighting the cultural and agrarian significance of Sankranti.

A total of 28 stalls by local and indigenous vendors, along with student-led stalls, showcased organic products, festive delicacies, and innovative ideas, reflecting students’ entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm. The cultural highlight of Krishi Purva 2k26 was the captivating performance by the Om Shakti Folklore Troupe, Haveri, whose energetic and authentic folk presentation beautifully reflected the richness of Indian agrarian traditions. Enthralling student cultural performances and the active participation of faculty, staff, and students made the celebration grand, engaging, and truly memorable.

The 79th Independence Day Celebration 2025 was held on 15th August 2025 at 9:30 AM in the RIT Quadrangle, organised by the Gokula Education Foundation. The event began with the flag hoisting by Dr. M.R. Seetharam, Hon’ble Chairman of GEF, followed by the National Anthem, march-past, and a motivational address. Students from various GEF institutions showcased their talents through patriotic songs, mime, and cultural performances. The fusion patriotic dance by MSRCASC students, blending classical, folk, and contemporary forms, stood out as the highlight, earning wide appreciation. The celebration strengthened collaboration among GEF institutions, creating a memorable and inspiring event.

As part of the 79th Independence Day celebrations 2025, the Cultural Committee and NSS Unit of MSRCASC organized Essay Writing and Reel Making Competitions on 12 th and 13 th August conducted in Kannada, Hindi and English, focused on the theme “The Role of Youth in Building a New India”. The Reel Making Competition, themed “Journey of India’s Independence (1947–Present)”, showcased creative digital storytelling, blending history with modern expression judged by Mr. Manjunath and Dr. Shashidhar Bhardwaj S.

Ganeshotsava 2025 was celebrated with devotion and cultural vibrancy on 28th August 2025 at the Campus Quadrangle of MSRCASC. The event began at 10:30 a.m. with the arrival and garlanding of the Ganapati idol, followed by sacred pooja rituals creating an aura of spiritual reverence. The cultural programme started at 3:30 p.m., featuring energetic performances by students from BCA, B.Sc. Life Sciences, BBA, B.Com, B.Sc. and EMCS departments. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and idol immersion, beautifully blending tradition with artistic expression and fostering unity and devotion among the college community.

The UG First-Year Orientation Program – Cultural Committee Presentation held on 17th July 2025 at Dr. APJ Auditorium, Mother Teresa Hall, and Visvesvaraya Hall, welcomed the 2025- 2028 batch of BCom, BBA, BCA, BA, and BSc students. The session introduced the Cultural Committee, its faculty convenors,and various associations like Nritya Tarang, Rhythm and Harmony, Tandav Troopers, Fashionista, and Rangabhoomi Theatre. Students were briefed on the importance of cultural participation for developing creativity, confidence, and leadership alongside academics. Participants were briefed on the rules, and insights into the Freshers’ Talent Hunt 2025 and the cultural calendar were unveiled.

The Cultural Committee of RCASC hosted a series of auditions from -, showcasing the college’s vibrant talent. The Tandav Troopers association auditions on 21 st August at the APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium featured seven energetic group dance performances. On 22nd August, the Nritya Taranga and Fashionista Auditions highlighted graceful dance performances and stylish ramp walks. The series concluded with the Riff & Rhapsody Auditions on 23rd August at the Visvesvaraya Auditorium, where 45 students showcased vocal and instrumental talents, and 18 students from various streams were selected. The events successfully provided platforms for students to express creativity and passion across music, dance, and fashion.

The Cultural Committee of MSRCASC celebrated Teachers’ Day on 15th September 2025 at the A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Auditorium in the presence of Principal Dr. Pushpa H and Vice Principal Prof. Jayaram B.S. The event began with a graceful classical dance by Nritya Taranga and featured lively games and performances by Tandav Troopers, Rangabhoomi, and Rhythm and Harmony. A fashion walk by Fashionista on the theme “Shades of Gratitude” added elegance to the evening. Teachers also took part in fun contests, with Mr. Kiran Nandi and Ms. Chitrakala crowned as the most stylish. The program beautifully honored teachers’ contributions with joy, respect, and creativity.

The Cultural Committee of MSRCASC organized Fresher’s Talent Day 2025 on 22nd and 23rd September at the APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium under the guidance of Principal Dr. Pushpa H and Vice Principal Prof. Jayarama B.S. The event brought together freshers from BA, BSc, BBA, and BCA to exhibit their creativity and skills. Performances included solo dance, solo singing, group dance, and a fashion show, keeping the audience captivated. The program created a vibrant atmosphere filled with energy, cheers, and enthusiasm. It was a memorable platform for new students to showcase talent with confidence and unity.

RCASC celebrated Onam 2025 on 20th September with vibrant performances and traditional festivities. The day began with a soulful Krishna Pooja at the island area, followed by the graceful Thiruvaadira dance. Students from B.Sc, BBA, BCA, M.Sc, and B.Com showcased their talents through energetic duet and group dances, along with a mesmerizing Mohiniyaattam performance. The highlight of the event was the Fashion Show, adding glamour and excitement to the celebrations. The program beautifully blended tradition, talent, and festive spirit, making it a memorable occasion for all.

On 3rd September, the Cultural Committee hosted Alive India’s Band-e-Mataram Season 3, featuring renowned bands Aurko and Alive India Rockstars. The event brought electrifying performances and inspiring interactions with our students. Budding musicians from our college got a chance to perform on the prestigious Band-e-Mataram stage, be considered for a musical residential scholarship, and explore brand collaborations. It was truly a golden opportunity to learn, showcase, and shine in the world of professional music!

The fashion teams Vistara and Avaia delivered an exceptional performance across multiple intercollegiate fashion shows, securing 11 podium finishes at prestigious institutions. Their achievements include six first prizes, along with several second and third places, reflecting consistent excellence, creativity, and strong stage presence. With remarkable flair and confidence, Vistara and Avaia showcased their talent at renowned colleges such as Sindhi College, Jain University, Manipal Academy, KLE, Atria Institute of Technology, and VTU Fest. Their multiple First, Second, and Third prize wins underline their dominance and versatility on the fashion circuit. The dynamic fashion teams Vistara and Avaia have made the institution proud by winning top honors across 11 major fashion shows. Repeated First Prize victories at Jain University, VTU Fest, St. Claret, RUAS, Acharya College, and Atria Institute of Technology stand as a testament to their creativity, coordination, and runway excellence.

Dance enthusiasts from MSRCASC delivered an outstanding performance, bringing home multiple trophies at prestigious intercollegiate events. Sayani Barua (BSc IV Sem) secured First Prize in the solo category at Atria Institute of Technology and earned Second Prizes in duet performances with Amal Krishna at Christ College of Science and Management. Adding to the success, Sneha and team (BSc Life Sciences) won Third Prize in group dance at VVN Degree College, showcasing collective talent and rhythmic excellence.

The Cultural Committee of MSRCASC successfully organized Retro Rewind 2025 on 2 April 2025 at the APJ Auditorium, offering a soulful celebration of timeless classic hits. The event was graced by Ms. Sreeja Mohandas, Media Artist, as the Chief Guest. With vibrant performances by student musicians and singers, the programme transported the audience through a nostalgic musical experience. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 170 attendees, reflecting the institution’s rich cultural engagement and appreciation for music across generations.

Celebrated as a festival of harvest and tradition, the event featured vibrant cultural activities, traditional games, and festive rituals that reflected the spirit of rural life and agrarian heritage. With an enthusiastic participation of over 500 students and staff, Krishi Parva fostered unity, joy, and cultural pride, transforming the campus into a lively celebration of tradition and togetherness.

The Cultural Committee of MSRCASC celebrated Deepawali on 4 November 2024 at the MSRCASC premises, spreading joy, positivity, and festive spirit across the campus. The event featured engaging activities such as Diwali reels, virtual dance, fashion reels, photography contests, and a social media awareness campaign, encouraging creativity and digital participation. With the enthusiastic involvement of 68 participants, Diwali Dhamaka beautifully reflected the essence of light, unity, and cultural expression.

The Cultural Committee of MSRCASC, in association with the Rotaract Club, organized Dasara Sambrama 2024 from 8 to 10 October 2024 at the MSRCASC premises. The three-day celebration featured a rich array of traditional and cultural activities including doll displays, diya making, Navaratri reels, Dandiya dance, and a Navaratri fashion show. With the enthusiastic participation of 380 students and staff, the event beautifully showcased India’s cultural heritage, fostering unity, devotion, and festive spirit across the campus.

The Cultural Committee of MSRCASC organized Freshers Talent Hunt 2024 on 24 September 2024 at the APJ Auditorium, providing a vibrant platform for first-year students to showcase their artistic talents. The event featured diverse performances including solo and group music, solo and group dance, fashion show, and beatboxing, encouraging creativity and confidence among freshers. With an impressive participation of 630 students, the programme successfully celebrated emerging talent and fostered a strong sense of belonging within the campus community.

With the participation of 510 students and staff, the event reflected cultural harmony, festive joy, and collective celebration across the campus.

The Cultural Committee of MSRCASC celebrated Krishna Janmashtami on 26 August 2024 at the MSRCASC Office, marking the occasion with devotion, traditional rituals, and collective prayers. The celebration created a spiritually uplifting atmosphere through offerings, floral decorations, and devotional observances honoring Lord Krishna. With the participation of 150 students and staff, the event reflected cultural reverence, spiritual harmony, and the institution’s commitment to preserving traditional values.

BCom Excellence: Adesh (BCom 2nd year) won first place in solo singing at Sindhi College on 30 October 2025, outperforming 50 participants.

BCA Excellence: Nabeel Y.K. (BCA 2nd year) earned the Best Model Award among 96 participants at the Sindhi College Intercollegiate Fest on 31 October.
