A One Day Seminar on “Innovation and Start-up Ecosystem Enablers” was handled for first Year B.C.A, M.B.A Students by the resource Mr. Kishore Jagirdar, Chairman & Managing Director, Infopace Management Pvt Ltd at Sir Vishweshwariah Auditorium by Department of Computer Science in Association with Institution Innovation Council.

The session hosted by Ms. Brundha N Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science. She started the session with Ramaiah Anthem and followed by welcoming guest on to the Dias giving sapling by Ms. Shaik Valli Haseena event coordinator. Program started with the invocation shloka by Ms. Dhanashri Vaishali Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science.

A brief introduction of the guest was given along with his achievements by Ms. Alafia J Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science. The session later carries by remarkable addressing of resource person to the students. he just started the session by addressing to the students on Getting into the mind of an Investor – what do they want?

The session later followed by explanation on the following topics.

  • What do investors want?
  • Should I do market research before pitching?
  • Will investors steal my idea?
  • Will investors steal my idea?
  • Difference between Accelerators and Incubators
  • Funding opportunities for startups.
  • Difference between Angel Investors and venture Capitalists.
  • Which Type of Funding Do You Need?

He then gave examples of Entrepreneurship, Investments and Marketing strategies for new startups. he briefly explained about Early stage companies which are typically given a small seed investment, and access to a large mentorship network, in exchange for a small amount of equity. he later briefed about Incubators begin with companies (or even single entrepreneurs) that may be earlier in the process. The speaker ended the session by the following quotes “Good ideas are common—what’s uncommon are people who’ll work hard enough to bring them about”.

With so much information delivered to the students, it obviously gave rise to many queries in the minds of the students which all the speakers were happy to clarify. The Q&A Session was followed by with a vote of thanks by Ms. Brundha N Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science. The session was focused more on motivating the students toward entrepreneurship through the life story of successful entrepreneurs. As a part of Honoring the guest of the day a memento was presented by Ms. Shaik Valli Haseena Event Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Department of Computer Science. The session ended with taking group photo with guest and participants.
